Classic ’68 KR Replica

We have done a number of custom builds in the past ranging from just the engine to the bodywork, or complete cars from the ground up. But, every so often we get an unusual request for something a little different and a nice challenge. For this project we have been asked to start work on a ’68 KR Replica. We have had the shell painted for a while now and stored, but nothing has been done up till now for various reasons.

We have a before picture and what we expect as an after picture, all be it in different colours of course.

We are excited about this project as it’s different from the other builds and a rare car in itself, as there are not many replicas around either we guess that makes this replica just as rare. This car will be eye-popping in presence as well as performance. The donor car is a ’67 but it will be kitted out to the ’68 spec when the original KR’s was launched. the differential is a little different on this build as we have added a Truetrac diff. The principle is pretty much the same as the limited slip differentials of today. We hope the power from this beast of an engine will be able to be used to its full potential with this diff in place.

Most of the parts back in the car and starting the tidy up of the engine bay and work on the interior.

We have added the page to the Customer Cars Menu and we will be updating this when we get some more progress, click here for the quick link.

We have had a large shipment in of some left and right hand side floor pans for the early ’64 – ’73 Mustangs that we have been waiting for. We will check to see if it’s the full consignment or not tomorrow it should be as it looks like it, but give us a call for more information.
